Dear Daughter, Don’t Let them Define You!

Every Wednesday I write a post focusing on celebrating womanhood at all levels, today I couldn’t write any because my eyes are kind of heavy from reading, but I found this post interesting and courageous, If I had a biological daughter this is apt, So to all daughters and sisters and all women. Have a good read.

Random Musing #55

True womanhood is being free enough to celebrate another sister’s triumph, and being there to weep for her mishap when it happens. Now that’s the sister love,God wants for us.

Dear God, I Need a Friend.

A big shout out to all the amazing women all over the world, being themselves and doing it amazingly. It’s another Wednesday, another exciting episode of #Celebratingwomanhood.

A few days ago, I told my husband that I was inviting my friend over for lunch, the next day after Sunday Service, and of course his response was, “You are now telling me on Saturday evening?

Well, telling him late wasn’t intentional , I guess I just couldn’t get round to telling him on time, because this friend in question is not someone in our collective circle of friends.

To my feminine mindset, I wanted my Husband to know the new kids on the block that I have been spending some time with in the last few months, and it was proper for me to bring one or two over to the house- A deliberate attempt on my part!

I remember, the first time I took this friend of mine out with her other friend, it was the first time for me , to take a girlfriend out ,where we just chill out and bonded as we gor to unwind,I have been invited out severally especially with the children, but that day was the first time I will take one or two girlfriends out .

You may find the title of this blog resonates in your heart, for most of us it does. Apart from letting God be your best friend through His Son, Jesus.I believe  strongly that He is very much interested in the kind of company we keep, because at the end of the day , the bottom line of every form of relationship is that God is honored and glorified through our friendship and that we also impact and Influence our circle of influence through such.

The plague of discontentment.

celebrating womanhood

Every woman I know has had to deal with the plague of discontentment at one point or the other, deep within us is that cry for more! Which makes us dissatisfied with the present situation we find ourselves.

As women, we are known to complain about everything, at every stage of life, no matter the status we are in.we are dissatisfied when we see other women doing the things we desire,  and looking all together without any problem. (sounds too good to be true though!

But the truth of the matter is this, no matter how much we have, there will always be someone who has more. Discontentment is a general disease plaguing not only the money-challenged people,or the uneducated, even the very rich and affluent ones  suffer discontentment.

Why are discontented? The picture that comes to my mind as I write is the occurrence in the garden of Eden, between the Woman and the serpent. Genesis 3:1-5, notice the trend of the discuss in verse 4 and 5

You will not surely die’, the snake said to the woman. 5. ‘For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God,knowing good and evil.

That right there, was the root of the plague that has caused many havoc to humanity , Comparison! whatever our areas of discontent today, it all stemmed from comparison.

A plus size woman, is trying to compare herself with a size 8 woman, and she believes that the reason why the whole world is collapsing on her is because she’s fat, on the other hand, the figure 8 lady is looking at the ‘fatty’ bum bum and thinking,” if I can just have some extra fat from her, maybe I would be fine’. The comparison has begun , and it goes on and on and on.

Women, why are we discontented? because most of the time what or who we compare ourselves with, is sometimes unreal. we pick one aspect of someone’s life that seems to be working well, and try to compare it with that area of ours that is messy and out of shape, forgetting that there is no such thing as perfect…….for as long as we are still on this side of the earth realm!

Let’s go back to Genesis again, who told the woman that she wasn’t like God already, how come she needed the serpent to  twist things for her, because that’s exactly what the serpent did, he twisted the truth, and still does till day.

She was already made in the image and likeness of God already, she was already a god,but that’s a topic for another post, what I am trying to bring out of this is that, everytime we try to compare ourselves with ourselves as Apostle Paul puts it,we miss out a truth that the grass is not always greener on the other side of the lawn.

You are dissatisfied because you think Linda has a perfect body and in good shape that why everything is working for her , what you don’t know is that behind closed doors, Linda is wishing she were you, because every time she sees you playing with the children who has caused that extra fat in your body (as you claim),she has an ache in heart that just won’t go away.

As women, how can we deal with this plague?

It is a matter of having the right attitude, we can conquer the plague  called ‘discontentment’ if we choose to. Because when we truly conquer it, then we begin to fully live life to the fullest. It is not about getting the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, it begins with appreciating the rainbow first.

As a Singerminister, I was plagued with discontentment, I would watch how my female counterparts were being invited ,and being all over the place, and things are happening for them,  at the back of my mind I would be wishing I was in their shoes, this went on for a while,Until I came to myself, after a hard time talking  God and pouring my heart out, because I didn’t like the negative energy that was coming out of me, it took a while to get out it,but gradually I began to embrace myself and the journey of my calling/career.

There are days I still want to do the comparison check ,but it’s no longer a stronghold that hindered me from being me and enjoying every moment, more so now that I know better, that I have been uniquely created to solve a specific assignment, and my journey cannot be like another woman’s journey even if it looked like we are doing the same thing, there is still something unique that separates us- It is that Unique Rarity  in us that we should celebrate, we must not try to compare or compete with one another.

Instead, we ought as women at whatever strata of life we may find ourselves, we must always celebrate who we are individually and collectively, knowing that our framework and design is peculiar to each of us.

Afterall, we are all of us complete!

I celebrate you, woman!

However, you are, wherever you are, whatever you are!

We are all of us complete, we do not compare us with us, we complement us, we build us for maximum impact and influence  so that our Heavenly Father will be proud of us as his partners in the business of creation.

To all the Women  creating values in the homefront, in the corporate world,in the media,

#MondayMusing- Collaboration.

In the last few weeks , I started sharing my thoughts via video on my instagram page and on my facebook. The aim is to be able to impact someone and as a result of the impact, the someone also impacts another. On and on, and wll cause a ripple effect as the cycle goes on and on.

Part of the reasons why I was scarcely seen on this blogosphere ,was because I wanted to have clarity and not just beating the air …aimlessly! Thanks be to God, the assignment is getting clearer and clearer.

Today On #mondaymusingswithOBA, I shared  a bit about the power of collaboration. This stemmed out of the things that had already started unfolding in my life as regards my asignment and my journey.

There is a common saying like this,”No man is an island” because of this phenomenal and fundamental truth, life without collaboration is empty and vague! I was blessed to meet an amazing dynamite Coach Bidemi Mark-Mordi,  we call her”SistaB”, read more here #Sisterpower-The Birthing Stool., from that meeting I knew I was in for a greater level of walk and work.

Collaboration is an empowering connection with sole purpose of making the people involved together are in a “Win-win” situation.

Collaboration is not selfish in nature, it is not about ,”what is in it for me” but about  ” we-win together!

For you to get the best out of a collaborative effort, you must have something that you are bringing to the table.

Don’t say, “I don’t have anything to offer”, you do have a whole lot to bring to the table no matter how insignificant you think that gift,or idea is.

Little is much ,in a collaborative environment, whatever you have to bring to the table, will make a world of impact.

In whichever relationship you may find your self ,Remember it is an empowerment to better all involved, at home, at work and at play.

A Three fold cord cannot be easily broken.

#Sisterpower-The Birthing Stool.

celebrating womanhood

I am a strong advocate for the woman with respect to coming to the fullness of everything about her. Celebrating her grace and virtues, honoring and saluting all forms of courage displayed by the special breed-Woman!

I had the opportunity to be at  a conference over the weekend, I had seen the advert for the conference on the social media, so I went ahead to register because the convener and one of the speakers for the event happened to be women that I had started gravitating towards.

The day came, and I was dressed in white with a touch of gold, that was the dress code for the conference- I got into the hall and it felt so pure and heavenly with the sea of women in their white apparels in different styles, the interior decor of the hall and the sparkling lights in sync with the atmosphere was so surreal.

I began to experience the unusual as soon as I walked in, the first speaker was already on stage and before she went on into her discuss, she blew the shofar, that  was a significant moment for me.

One after the other all the speakers took turns and made deposits into other women as God gave them utterances. However at the turn of the third speaker, there was a shift, and that shift was indescribable, at some point while she was speaking she told us -the audience to face the other person and just speak words to one another.

The lady sitting next to me was trying to avoid the eye contact, as the speaker told us to look into each other eyes and speak life, As I tried to look into her eyes she’ll turn and look elsewhere and look back at me again, it’s not easy looking into the eyes of a stranger, because at that point in time that was all we were -strangers sitting together.

white apparels

Cross section of  Women in White!

That strangeness soon change as everyone in that hall, glittering in white apparels and gold, woman to woman,we held one another’s hand and we started to pray one for another and the prayers intensified, and the intensity increased, and the prayer language changed we began to groan as one in labour yes, we were in labour. All of a sudden we began to pray out the mind of God for one another with accuracy and clarity.  Because of God’s presence that was evident in that atmosphere, He gave us the enablement to “stand in the gap” and bring to the earth realm what had long been hanging!

Midwives- SisterPower.

Sister power

Sisters with power

Unbeknown to us

Our eyes lurked

As we held hands

Speaking life

strangers we were

With a common goal

Here on the birthing stool

To take the delivery

Of that precious child

We each carried for too long

With the help of the midwives

Saying Push!

Push correctly!

This is your moment in time

Chin down your chest

Now push, they screamed

I’m too tired, she cried

The pain is too much

For me to bear

Then the midwife whispered in her ears

Holding her hand tenderly,

We are in this together.

With the warmth from her midwife

And the joy of seeing her baby

She pushed one last time

Oh! the sound of a crying baby

Destiny was birthed

On that stool

With such SisterPOWER

Sister power so pure

so true, it goes beyond

class and status quo

This power is beyond age or degree

Sister power that levels from all end

for the sole purpose of PURPOSE

So that heaven’s investment

Is not a colossal loss.

Sister power endowed by our Father

For strange works of righteousness

In the earth realm

Breaking the chains of affliction.

Sister power divine enablement

For impact and Influence.

He smiles on me.

God peeped out from the window of his vast heavens.

He looked down to see His pretty damsel.

The heavens beamed with great joy

As the creator and the architect of the Universe

Paused  to look at me  with  such joy.

He beheld me,His prized possession

I am my Father’s Daughter

With his great smile

I can take on the world because I am possible

That’s what matters.

His smiles cause me to laugh right here right now

I can laugh at the days to come

Just like the virtuous woman in me

I am my father’s daughter

Heaven smiles on me

Though the dream may seem too big

For this frailty frame of mine

I will not fear,For my Father

Got me covered.

This is going to be the start of something great

I’ve got the Master planner, Master Builder

The Master minder , minding my business

God has smiled  on me

He’s been good to me.

Smiling at the days ahead.

#Mopelola- She is Womb(man).

Wombman= Man with a Womb=Woman.

celebrating womanhood

I heard someone once say,

When you are  a manufacturer, your first product is a test. She was making reference to the fact that when God created Man, Adam was a test product after He created Adam, God wasn’t satisfied because all Adam was hard Rock.

But God needed another kind of product that will partner with him in the business of Creation full of emotion, soft and succulent with the ability to receive and nurture seeds of greatness to fruition. So he went back to his drawing board  and started mapping out strategies to make another man,but this time having different feature and a bag inside her to conceive life and assist God in spreading life -the bag is her womb.

The rest they say is history- In today’s world, we see how the Man tries to annihilate himself by destroying his Womb(man) with every weapon available. Through the many faces of violence and abuse against Her.

What I learnt from Oluwaseun Ayanfeoluwa.

Celebrating Womanhood Series-Special Focus On Thriving Business Women Fellowship. Business Summit #forgeahead2016.

Last week Wednesday  on celebrating womanhood, I shared extensively about my experience at a business summit,Click here. The summit is still ongoing until the end of June. Yesterday was another powerful session, much more than the first week. It’s getting better as the week unfolds. 🙂

As my practice, I left home early because I wanted to secure a good parking space this time around. And graciously for me, I did find a good space,so I didn’t have to walk a long distance like I did last week. :D. The  reception, as usual, was awesome, and the worship session #powerful.

This week’s Speaker Oluwaseun Ayanfeoluwa is the MD/CEO, Thots N Works,an organisation that works with Small and Medium Enterprises into transforming their business into a strong and visible brand. She is brand Expert,Author,Coach, Seasoned facilitator and professional speaker. Her life mission and purpose is Inspiring others to succeed.

Ms. Oluwaseun Ayanfeoluwa speaking with such passion and intensity at the week two of TBWF Business Summit 2016.

Inspiring others to succeed was what she did, at yesterday’s summit. She spoke with such contagious passion as she shared her life’s journey with the multitude of women and men at the summit yesterday. I must confess that she messed me up with her story, I couldn’t help the tears on my face as I listened to her, at different junctions during her session, some words hit below the belt!

Ms. Seun’s story is the typical story of the stone which the builder reject which has become the chief cornerstone,( Recall the Nehemiah story). A fortified and formidable woman blazing trails,as a result of her ugly unpleasant past, she opened up about her life and marriage and how God used her pains to power her purpose.

Ms. Ayanfeoluwa began to walk in the consciousness of her divine mandate as a result of the many struggles she faced, battling with so much depression to the point of suicide attempts,But God had a greater plan for her life. Today she is an Entrepreneur’s entrepreneur, walking in the fullness of her mission and purpose and  she still forging ahead against all odds.Pressing on for the mark of the high calling, I salute her doggedness and resilience. Her trials and troubles are unfolding into testimonies and triumphs on all sides.

Some the lessons she taught during her sessions.

God uses the battles of our lives to bring out the glories of our life-The very issue or situation causing you pain is the instrument that will be used to catapult you to your God ordained destiny If you will only focus on God.

When it seems as if life is dealing with you from every angle, know that it is because you are on an assignment that far outweighs you.

God has deposited deep wells of eternal treasures in you, that the world is waiting for. If you don’t want to leave your comfort zone, God will allow the elements animate or inanimate, to make you uncomfortable. So that you do not short change your destiny.

She further emphasized the value of friendship- True friendship is very important in Forging ahead as a woman. In making friends you should be careful the kind of people you open yourself up to. In her struggles with handling emotional turmoils and depression she mentioned her friends who stood by her relentlessly, they never gave up on her because they knew she was and still is an embodiment of greatness.

Her friends stood with her encouraging her when she was on the verge of losing it all. They never gave up on her. Today they are still with her, celebrating her triumphs

Friends pick us up, when we fall down and if they can’t pick us, They lie down and listen for a while,in lying down, they help us get back up.

Woman to Woman,

A glorious treasure, sharing things alike,no facade,no secrets. Closer than close ,tighter than tight, a bond thicker than blood- The essence of friendship and sisterhood.

In finding true friendship you will experience the bad ones, but it is not a function of what people do to you, it is a function of what God will do with you with those bitter experiences. This reminds me of Travis Greene’s Intentional:

All things are working for my good

Because He’s intentional

God is intentional about every detail of your lives, the good, the bad and the in between. He is using all of the experiences to build a strong, dynamic, world changer. You are the one He’s building. Don’t despair in the face of the adversary. Don’t give up in adversity. God is in control.

Adversity is meant to strengthen you!

Remember always,

Where purpose is concerned, your comfort is not a priority to God-‘Seun Ayanfeoluwa.

Check out madame Ruth, everything that looked like ‘comfort’ was removed so that she could be positioned for a transgenerational relevance. who would have thought that a simple Moabitess would be in the lineage of our Lord and Saviour Jesus!

Dear Woman,The things you are going through right now,no matter how tough they may be,They are just your launching pad to ‘Greatness’. Face your fear!

See the challenges as your tools to #forgeahead #advanceintoglobalstatus #taketerritories. Because God has a plan for your life and your life is just beginning!

On this week post, I celebrate and salute the courage and tenacity of a phenomenal woman, Oluwaseun Ayanfeoluwa, who is at the cutting edge of her purpose and mandate on this side of eternity present and who is forging ahead against all odds.

I also celebrate all the Thriving Women in #TBWF, and all my sisters and friends here and all over. In the words of that popular song, I say

Ain’t no stopping us now, we are on the move 😀

#Forgeahead #makeimpact#strategicprogression #celebratingwomanhood.
